Get Ready For Winter - Are You Winter Ready?
Every year the Government publishes advice for preparing for winter, this includes health advice, travel advice and your home (external website)

Gas and Electricity
Whilst the UK’s gas and electricity supply is very reliable, bad winter weather can cause damage and disruption. Energy Networks Association is therefore sharing this simple advice to help people prepare:
- Know your free emergency numbers - for a gas emergency, dial 0800 111999 or in a power cut dial 105.
- Prepare your home – keep a torch handy and get your appliances serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Vulnerable households can get extra support by signing up to the Priority Services Register. Contact your gas or electricity network to find out more. Visit www.energynetworks.org to find out who your network operator is.
- Keep your eyes open – keep an eye on the weather forecast and, if you have a gas emergency or a power cut, check on your neighbours.
Suffolk County Council Services
Suffolk Highways are responsible for the delivery of these services in Suffolk except for trunk roads, which are the responsibility of Highways England. The winter season runs from 1 October 2017 to 30 April 2018.
