What training do we offer?
We have a number of workshops and training sessions that are available to anyone who is actively involved in Community Emergency Planning Groups or Winter Gritting Groups. It’s not just key committee members but anyone who has said they will help in the event of an incident occurring.
The Rest Centre training provides new volunteers to rest centre operations an understanding of how a rest centre is activated and operates. The subjects covered are; types of rest centres, activation of a rest centre, rest centre staffing, roles and responsibilities, registration of evacuees, feeding and emergency bedding. It also gives candidates the opportunity to gain experience in the setting up and functions of a rest centre in an operational environment.
You can book onto any course which suits you. Please contact the relevant course lead to book your place. Joining instructions will be sent out about a week before the event but you will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of your booking.
